Crochet Pattern

Finished doll measures 6” tall.

Magic Ring: Leaving a long tail, ch. 4, join with sl st into first chain to form a ring. Work 10 sc into center ring and around tail. Do not join. Pull the tail to close the hole in the ring. Mark the beginning of the row. From this point on, you will be working in the round.

Abbreviations:

ch chain

sc single crochet

sk skip

sl st slip stitch

st stitch

Materials: Worsted weight yarn in 2 colors

Crochet hook size E4

Safety eyes size 15mm (shown are 15mm blue cat eyes)

Velvety brown 20mm nose

Stuffing

Yarn needle

Head:

Row 1: Create Magic Ring as above.

Row 2: 2 sc in each sc around.

Row 3: *1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to * around.

Rows 4-7: 1 sc in each sc around.

Row 8: *1 sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to * around.

Row 9: 1 sc in each sc around.

Row 10: *1 sc in next 3 sc, sc next 2 sc together*, repeat from * to * around.

Row 11: 1 sc in each sc around.

Position eyes in the 6th row from the top and 5 sc apart.

Position nose in the 9th row from the top spaced between the eyes.

Embroider facial features, including mouth and eyelashes.

Row 12: 1 sc in next 8 sc. *Sc next 2 tog, 1 sc in next sc*, repeat 8 times. 1 sc in each sc to end of round. (Creates neck shaping).

Join second color but do not end main color. Work next 13 rows alternating main color and second color to form stripes.

Row 13: 1 sc in each sc around.

Row 14: *1 sc in next 3 sc, sc next 2 together*, repeat from * to * around.

Rows 15-19: 1 sc in each sc around.

Row 20: *1 sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to * around.

Rows 21-23: 1 sc in each sc around.

Row 24: *1 sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to * around.

Row 25: 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st and end.

Body Bottom:

Row 1: Ch. 4. Join with sl st in the 4th ch to form ring. 10 sc in center of ring.

Row 2: 2 sc in each sc around.

Row 3: 1 sc in next 15 sc. Join with sl st and send, leaving a long tail for sewing to body.

Arms:

Make 2

Row 1: With main color, ch 6. 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch. 1, turn.

Rows 2-4: 1 sc in each sc across. Tie on second color, end main color.

Row 5: 2 sc in each sc across. Join with sl st and end, leaving a tail for sewing.

Arm finishing: Attach yarn needle to tail yarn of arm. Gather the top of the arm by weaving in and out of the last row and pull tightly. Join with sl st to secure. Continuing with the same yarn, sew down the side of the arm, tucking in any yarn ends as you go. Continue with this yarn to sew the arm to the body. End and weave in end.

Feet:

Make 2

Row 1: Ch. 4, join with sl st in 4th ch to form ring. Work 10 sc in center of ring. Join with sl st and end, leaving a tail for sewing to the bottom of the body. Position feet on bottom of the body with edges peeking out as shown.

Front of Ears:

Make 2

Row 1: With secondary color, ch. 8, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch. 1, turn.

Row 2: 1 sc in each sc across. Ch. 1, turn.

Row 3: 1 sc in 2nd sc and in next 4 sc. Sc next 2 sc together. Ch. 1, turn.

Row 4: 1 sc in 2nd sc and in next 2 sc. Sc next 2 sc together. Ch. 1, turn.

Row 5: Sc 2 together, 1 sc in next sc. Ch. 1, turn.

Row 6: Sc 2 together. Join with sl st and end.

Row 7: Tie on main color. 1 sc in each sc and row all the way around to create a border, working 2 sc in each corner. Join with sl st and end, leaving a tail for sewing.

Back of Ears:

Make 2
Row 1: With main color, ch. 10. 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each sc across. Ch. 1, turn.

Row 2: Skip 1st sc, 1 sc in next 6 sc, sc next 2 sc together. Ch. 1, turn.

Row 3: Skip 1st sc, 1 sc in next 4 sc, sc next 2 sc together. Ch. 1, turn.

Row 4: Skip 1st sc, 1 sc in next 2 sc, sc next 2 sc together. Ch. 1, turn.

Row 5: Skip 1st sc, sc next 2 sc together. Join with sl st and end, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Ear Finishing: Hold one ear front and one ear back together with right sides facing out. Join main color to both front and back in one corner. Work 1 sc in each sc and row all the way around to join the two sides together and create a border, working 2 sc in each corner. Tuck in yarn ends as you go. Join with sl st and end, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Tail:

Row 1: With main color, ch. 4, join with sl st in 4th ch from hook to form ring. Work 6 sc in center of ring and around beginning yarn. Pull tightly to close hole. Work in the round from this point on.

Rows 2-22: 1 sc in each sc around.

Row 23: *1 sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to * around.

Row 24: *1 sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to * around.

Row 25: *1 sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to * around, join with sl st and end, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Finishing:

Position and sew ears to head.

Using 2nd color, sew over and over in the center of the belly to create a belly button.

Sew body bottom to the bottom of the body, leaving a 2” section open for stuffing. Stuff head and body firmly. Finish sewing. End and weave in yarn end.

Position feet and sew to body.

Position arms and sew to body. Do not stuff arms (that way they are able to be posed).

Position tail at base of the back of the body and sew in place. Do not stuff (so it can be posed).
