Roly Poly Bunnies!

Roly
Poly Bunnies are the perfect little Easter gift. They are
only
2-1/2" tall and quick to make. Perfect for adding to an
Easter
basket, hiding for Easter morning, or giving as cute little Easter
gifts.
Materials:
Cotton yarn (I used Lily Sugar 'n Cream variegated in spring colors)
Size D crochet hook
6mm eyes
Begin bunny at top of head:
Row
1: Ch. 4, join with slip stitch to form a ring.
Make 6 sc
into the center of the ring and around the tail. Pull the
tail to
close the hole in the ring.
Row 2: 2 sc in each sc around.
Row 3: *1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to *
around.
Rows 4-7: 1 sc in each sc around.
Row 8: *1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to *
around.
Rows 9-12: 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st
and end.
Bottom of bunny body:
Row 1: Ch. 4, join with slip stitch to form a ring.
Make 6
sc into the center of the ring and around the tail. Pull the
tail
to close the hold in the ring.
Row 2: 2 sc in each sc around.
Row 3: *1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to *
around.
Row 4: *1 sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to
*
around. Join with sl st and end, leaving a long tail for
sewing.
Bunny ears (make 2):
Row 1: Ch. 15. Work 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and
across,
working 3 sc in last ch. Do not turn. Keeping
working
around the end and up the other side of this row.
From this
point on, you will be working in the round, making a long oval shape.
Row 2: 1 sc in each sc across, working 2 sc in the 2 sc
spaces at the end.
Row 3: 1 sc in each sc across, working 2 sc in the 2 sc at
the end.
Row 4: 1 sc in each sc across. End, leaving a tail
for sewing.
Tail:
Make a pompom for the tail. I wrapped the yarn around 4
fingers
of my other hand 30 times, tied it in the middle, and cut the loops on
each end, then trimmed it down to size but left both ends of the string
I used to tie it together to sew it to the bunny.
Finishing: Eyes are placed between rows 4 and 5 one space
apart.
Sew ears to the 2nd row evenly spaced apart.
Sew bottom of body to body, leaving about a 1-2" gap for stuffing.
Stuff the bunny firmly, and the sew the hole closed.
Sew the bunny's pompom tail on.
Enjoy your roly poly bunny!
